It's built to beat the heat, with a cast-aluminum basket that's vented to keep the 3.5" aluminum triple voice coil cool when the music gets hot. A double-stitched folded rubber surround gives the sub additional excursion without giving up cone area, and combines with a reinforced spider to keep the polypropylene cone pumping out the bass.
